Hidden Details in Captain America Movies That Went Unnoticed
The Captain America movies we all love are filled to the brim with hidden tidbits, fun inside jokes, and wonderfully clever references between several films that all point to each other. There are so many interesting hidden details and easter eggs nestled in the Captain America films, and the majority of viewers likely overlooked these subtle hints during their initial watch. But these elements certainly enhance the joy of watching these movies, and increase our admiration for them even more.
Coming Full Circle
It’s the best when little details take a long time to make sense, and that’s exactly what we see here. Before Cap had his actual shield, he creatively used a symbolic taxi door, in a really cool moment that hinted at what was to come in The First Avenger.
You can spot a photographer in the distance working to document the scene. Interestingly enough, in the TV Show, Falcon and The Winter Soldier, that same photograph taken by the photographer can be actually seen displayed in the dedicated Captain America exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution.
Wakanda Forever
With the loss of Iron Man, a celebrated hero, the Marvel Cinematic Universe must hunt for a new tech hub to equip its superheroes. It appears that the solution lied in Wakanda, a technological paradise, from where Bucky received his new arm and similarly, Sam was gifted his wings and a Captain’s suit.
If you watch Black Panther closely, you can notice something interesting. The scales on Captain America’s suit seen in Avengers: Endgame were actually showcased first in Shuri’s suit demonstration at the start of the movie. It’s a fun bit of detail not everyone catches.
Newfound Strength
In the film, Captain America: The First Avenger, we get to see how Steve manages to keep his humble nature, even after he’s given the super-soldier serum. During his first ever pursuit scene in the movie, we witness Steve trying to adjust and get the hang of his new, amplified abilities.
In his pursuit of a Nazi hitman, Steve takes a huge leap over a fence. Watch closely and you’ll see him reach out with his arms, just like anyone would while making a hefty jump. The difference is, with his impressive strength, he clears the fence entirely without a single touch.
Good Man, Perfect Soldier
In the film, Captain America: The First Avenger, Dr. Arskein sheds light on the fact that the one to bear the shield shouldn’t be just an ordinary person. He beautifully expresses that someone who has the qualities of a Super Soldier needs to have a righteous heart. This was the primary reason for choosing a good man to take on the role of Captain America.
This is why John Walker doesn’t succeed as Captain America. He embodies the very thing Dr. Arskein warned about; he’s the Perfect Soldier. This is also why Sam was picked by Steve as the one to take over. Before setting off on his trip back in time, Steve called Sam “a good man”. This tells us that Steve believes that Sam is a worthy choice to carry the shield.
