Zack Snyder has made many movies that were a bit controversial. Rebel Moon only got a 21% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and while it faired slightly better with the audience at a rating of 58%, it still wasn't great. While it is true that many of the movies he makes get this polarized reception, Snyder has also had largely praised titles like 300, Dawn of the Dead, and his version of the Justice League. Snyder expressed curiosity about what the reaction of the critics will be after they see the director's cuts, and fans also wonder whether the second film will be any better.
